# First Serve Seattle

> First Serve Seattle shows which of Seattle's 150 public tennis and pickleball courts are open for walk-up (first-come, first-served) play today, using the city's official reservation data — so players skip booked courts and $24 reservation fees.

## What we do
- Daily availability for every public outdoor tennis court in Seattle (Seattle Parks & Recreation and select school courts).
- Court-by-court open time slots for today, updated from the official reservation system every morning.
- Court amenities: lights, backboards/hitting walls, pickleball lines, ball machine rental.
- Facility guides for 40+ parks with local tips, surfaces, and conditions.
- Optional daily email alerts listing the day's open courts at facilities you pick.

## Who it is for
Seattle tennis and pickleball players who play walk-up rather than reserving: they check the site (or get the morning email) and go straight to an open court.

## How it works
Seattle Parks courts are reservable through ActiveNet; whatever is not reserved stays open for free walk-up play. We surface those unreserved windows. Courts that are never reservable (e.g. Kinnear Park, Riverview Playfield, Magnuson Park) are always open for drop-in play and are labeled as walk-up only.

- Free: 3 court checks, then a subscription ($8/month, cancel anytime) unlocks unlimited daily availability.

## Honesty
Availability reflects the city's reservation data at scrape time; courts can fill with walk-up players at any moment, and same-day reservations made after our morning scrape won't show. We are independent and not affiliated with Seattle Parks & Recreation.
